For those of you that are wondering about how we suddenly jumped from MM#18 in the ADHD section to MM#100;
Even though Louis and Craig started to submit 'prE-pistles' as early as 1997, we didn't publish them in the form of a
proper E-zine until 2002 when we started 'numbering' the issues. I'm now re-writing history by starting with a brand
new Malt Maniacs Issue #1, filled by the articles we've written about single malt whisky in 1997 - a decade ago. Until
the new archive is finished you can find all the E-pistles we've written between 1997 and 2006 in a special section I've
devoted to the old stuff; the ADHD (A Decade of Heavy Dramming) section. This is where you can find all our old articles
and discussions until I've finished the archive section. That will probably take a while, though.

Malt Maniacs Archive

In this 'archive' section you can find all the E-pistles we've published since the massive
crash of the old website in 2006 - as well as a growing number of our old E-pistles.
Eventually I hope to transfer the entire ADHD section (that's short for A Decade of
Heavy Dramming) to this new archive, but we're not quite there yet. Thus far we
have published over 1000 articles about single malt Scotch whisky in our E-zine.
It will take me at least a few more months to transfer all the old articles.

Archive

Once completed, this archive will offer a full overview of all E-pistles we have
written since 1997. Everything else will be published in 4 brand new sections;
the Library (the place for quiet study, containing reviews of whisky books, the
Lex-icon, etc.), the office (containing everything that has to do with numbers;
the awards section , the Malt Maniacs Matrix and the Malt Maniacs Monitor), our
cosy little hang-out called the bar (a place to discuss new whiskies as well as
the latest whisky news) and last but not least, the locals - the section for our
local initiatives in the pipeline, including local whisky forums in Dutch & German.

We welcome articles from both certified 'Malt Maniacs' and 'foreign correspondents'.
At the end of each year the most active foreign correspondents are invited to join the team of certified Malt Maniacs.
You can find our 'mission statement' and more information about our principles in the Malt Maniacs Manifesto in the library.
Join the mailinglist (see the address below) for updates on the reconstruction process of Malt Maniacs. Just drop me a message with the subject 'Add me to the list' and let me know your name and what part of the world you're from.

Sweet drams,

Johannes van den Heuvel
Editor Malt Madness / Malt Maniacs

There was another reason for changing the old site structure. Because the content for an issue of MM was often
divided across several web pages it became very difficult to find a particular article. By making sure that each issue
of Malt Maniacs consists of only one page on the web we should be able to provide a smoother surfing experience.

So, each issue of our E-zine will contain 10 articles from now on. Well... except for the first issue of each year, that is.
A few weeks after publishing an issue we know which articles are most popular. Those E-pistles are marked in RED.
As far as the older E-pistles are concerned, I've published the 'reconstructed' issues for 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000.
