In 2005 we reached 'critical malt mass'; 24 certified malt
maniacs located in 14 different countries around the world.
You can find an overview with some basic information about
each of the maniacs in the 'Credentials' section. Clicking on
the name of one of the maniacs will take you directly to his
'Personal Profile', which should give you some idea about the
background of that maniac. Each personal profile consists of
an introduction, a Top 10, an overview of all sampled malts
and links to all E-pistles written by that particular maniac.
This is our most popular feauture. The Matrix offers an
overview of the scores the malt maniacs awarded to more
than 1000 different single malt whiskies. Having a peek at it
before your next trip to the liquorist might be a good idea.

And if that doesn't satisfy you, check out WhiskyFun.com. That's it for now - Enjoy!
That's Serge Valentin's personal website. Apart from some
'maniacal' extensions like the Malt Maniacs Monitor (lots of
statistics) and the Maniacs Picture Book (lots of pictures)
the site has some great 'personal' items as well, including
Serge's 'Brora Barnum', dedicated to Serge's #1 distillery.
Well, I guess I don't have to explain this one, do I?
The Archive gives you a full overview of all the E-pistles
we've written so far. The column at the left shows some
of the most recent additions to our ever expanding 'oeuvre'.
The Malt Maniacs Awards are an annual competition.
So far, we've organised the event in 2003, 2004 & 2005.
Check out the results if you want to know which single
malts the malt maniacs can recommend 'collectively'.

Certified Malt Maniac

Since our humble beginnings in the 1990's this website has
been growing and growing - very much like our 'malt mania'.
Here's a little more information about the five main sections
of Malt Maniacs to help you find your way through the site;
During the late 1990's - around the time a market for 'antique' whiskies started to emerge - the first rumours about
fake bottlings appeared as well. Not all malt maniacs are collectors (in fact, some would be insulted if you called them collectors to their face) so the rumours about a fake Macallan from the 19th century worried us about as much as rumours
that the sun is going to explode in approximately five billion years - give or take a fortnight... All that changed quite radically by the end of 2004 when we suddenly stumbled across several fake bottlings that were offered for prices that
put them in the price range of normal people!
Reason enough to put up a seperate FAKE ALERT
page with suspect bottles on Malt Maniacs.
Click HERE
to check out the potential and confirmed fakes we found so far;
Have you encountered a bottle you suspect or know is fake?
Do your fellow maltheads a favour and let us know!
There may be more copies around!
Come on, let's try to stamp out this problem by warning others when and where they should be careful...
This is a relatively recent addition to Malt Maniacs.
At the moment the Loony Bin contains just two items;
1)
Global Malt Lexicon (a list of malt distilleries worldwide)
2) Fake Alert (a list of suspected and corfimed fakes)
