Hehehe ;-) Obviously, the sub-site of our international collective is a favourite. Serge Valentin's website; Malt Maniacs 'Dependance' and the Brora Barnum.
Musings by Alex Kraaijeveld. One of the most comprehensive sites on the web. Huge website with a scottish 'motif', including information on many lost distilleries.
Very active mailinglist. Unusual interface but an excellent source of information. On-line edition of the magazine with lots of good stuff. An excellent read!
A recent discovery. Excellent information about the Scottish distilleries. The friendly hosts of Malt Madness. Good site; a lot of interesting stuff. |

Attractive design, but the site is a major disaster if you don't like 'cookies'. A site with a personality of it's own. Not a lot of actual information, though.
A relatively simple website with quite a lot of information about Arran. Slick website without too much actual content when I write this. A beautiful site with not too much content. Watch out: tricky navigation.
Basic site with information about the range, the distilley and the visitor centre. The distillery was purchased by Gordon & MacPahil and re-opened in 1998.
The revitalised distillery has a revitalised website. Purplest site on the web? Not really a seperate website, but some useful information on this Diageo site.
Company site. Great design, but like most official site the content is pretty lame. The new whisky is great, but I don't care too much for the official website.
The sub-section on this Diageo site provides an history, opening hours, etc. Cardhu (also known as 'Cardow') has its own section on the Diageo website.
Part of the Diageo website - a page with basic information about the distillery. Section of the Diageo site with a historical overview and general information.
A very attractive site - but why did they make it so difficult to enter? Lots of funny little bits of trivia on the page with the history of the distillery.
Since Mr. Symington bought Edradour, it's Scotland's smallest independent distillery. Part of the Diageo website - a page with basic information about the distillery.
Basic website with a little information about history, the range, distributors, etc. The site has lots of usefull information, but the navigation is pretty confusing.
This site used to be very generic but it has improved a lot - just like the whisky. A sub-section of the Diageo site with opening hours, history of Glenkinchie, etc.
Warning! Absolutely and utterly useless if you don't accept hostile cookies. Now here's a very pretty site - and once again the navigation is utter crap!
Just like most other distillery sites, it looks good but offers little information. Glen Ord doesn't have its own website as such; it's part of the Diageo site.
Nicely designed website in the style of the official bottlings. Good work. Decent enough, but why does every distillery site looks just like the next one?
I'm not too crazy about the malt, but the site has some truly original offerings. One of Scotland's latest distilleries (or rather projects) already has a website.
Part of the Diageo website - a page with basic information about the distillery. When I last checked (August 2005) the pages on Lagavulin were mostly empty.
Now here's a site with a style of it's own. Also check out 'friends of Laphroaig'. One of the very best 'official distillery sites - Excellent design and information.
In August 2005 the Diageo site had little information to offer about Oban. One of the +/- twenty distilleries I've visited so far has a Diageo sub-site. An extensive site with information about the distillery, the range, etc.
Not a lot of content on the Diageo sub-site, but what there is is interesting. A flashy site with a confusing navigation structure and little useful content.
Distillery annex hypermarket. The site seems to be mostly 'under construction'.
Here are a few 'foreign' distilleries and one site that covers thirteen of them;
Official Diageo site for thirteen distilleries, including the 'classic' classic malts. Ireland's only independent distillery produces many brands, including Connemara.
At 'Brennerei Zentrum Bauernhof' in Switzerland they do actually make whisky! |

A nice, tightly designed website with just the bare essentials. Unfortunately, the website seems to be down most of the time.
Scotland's oldest bottler, by their own admission. Little info on the site. Company in Brittany (France) that bottles their own whiskies. Flashy site - if you like that kind of stuff. It's quite funny, though.
Website with loads of information on Duncan Taylor and its brands. A butt-ugly website, but you can find all you need there. Not much more than a price list with a few pictures.
Well, I'm not sure if two pages can be called a website... Tight design, but the 'news' is from 2000. Hardly fresh, eh? This site tends to crash my browser - visit at your own risk.
Very clean website with only the most basic data. Bad job. One of the worst 'commercial' sites I've come accross. The German site has an English section. Info about bottlings & the festival.
Basic website about company and brands. Very little information at the moment. Main website of Fabio Rossi's Italian independent bottling company. |

Single malt mail orders by Sukhinder Singh - friendly host of these pages. A site with a 'groovy' home page ;-) Check out the Scotch Whisky Review!
Keir Sword's site; 'physical' shops are located in Edinburgh and London. Mike & Cathy Drury's store in Tomintoul, Scotland. It has a very nice atmosphere. The bar of the four star Craigellachie Hotel is world famous.
Andries Visser runs a wonderful whisky shop in Amsterdam. Extremely 'Gezellig'! Excellent collection. Good website, but it helps if you understand some French.
A modest collection, but the prices are very friendly indeed. In Luxembourg. Giorgio d"Ambrosio's whisky shop / bar / trattoria / treasure cave in Italy. |

A treasure trove of information that I discovered very recently. Highly original website and magazine by Johanna from Canada.
Official site of the SWA. Great Design! Some information & news. By Kevin Erskine. A very informative and outspoken blog, updated very frequently. Brand new blog from Austria with a quickly growing body of content.
Generic site with news, notes from Michael Jackson's 3d Edition, etc. Large whisky portal by Dennis Klindrup from Denmark. Lots of links. By Jean-Marie Putz. An overwhelming amount of whisky info. Multi-lingual!
Beautiful shrine for Ardbeg and other Islay malt whiskies by Gordon Homer. A very impressive archive of over 2000 different Islay bottlings with pictures.
Mark Gillespie spreads the gospel of whisky in a novel way; through podcasts! Well, strictly speaking it's no 'whisky publication - but it's very funny.
A fresh weblog by Pete Lamb - already lots of good stuff months after the launch. By Charles Shields. Great site with good writing and photo's. By F. Paul Pacault. Samples whisky, but other wines & spirits too.
The beautifully designed website from Andreas Dether about whisky and cigars. Useful for keeping up with the whisky news - but not updated for some time. A webshrine devoted to Laphroaig by fellow malt maniac Klaus Everding.
By Ken Marsh. Exstensive tasting notes. By Horst Enge from Bonn, Germany. Includes tasting notes on hundreds of whiskies and a huge database of distilleries.
Apparently, there's another old Dutchman from Amsterdam into whisky. Jeroen's website has quickly developed into a great source of information. An overload of information, but they didn't waste a lot of time on webdesign.
A nifty application that allows you to search through several auction websites. |

Honouring those who improve our gene pool - by removing themselves from it... Amazing (and often nonsensical) international statistics. Great fun for list freaks.
Loads of interesting stories about the world's history from a fresh perspective. Proof that true stories are weirder than made-up stories... A wonderful compendium of quotes. Including famous last words and predictions.
